EAA Witness Hunter 10mm or other glove compartment gun?

I am looking at a gun to keep in my glove compartment. Would be nice to have something powerful with a long barrel considering I won't be using it for CC. A 10mm appeals to me for this purpose but I am open to other suggestions. I am also somewhat concerned about the recoil of a 10mm but hope a long barrel and possible porting would ease some of that up. Have heard mixed reviews of the Witness Hunter and wanted to know if anyone could offer some advice. Thanks.
