Could a very short period of time exposed to black mold cause noticeable health effects?

Went into an old, abandoned building a few days ago. I went into a room that was COVERED with black mold. I was only in there for probably a minute before leaving. The past two days I've had this terrible cough and overall feel like crap. I do have some history of asthma trouble, and I know that the exposure isn't lethal but I am kind of curious to know if these incidences *could* have anything to do with each other? Would be kind of cool..unless I get really ill...then that'd be lame.
