Are dents without scratches expensive to repair?

If the dent on a car door is strictly from it being pushed in (its about the size of a baseball) and there isnt any paint damage at all is it possible for it to be a simple "suction cup" it out? I dont know the techinical name for it, but if its not simple, can it get expensive to fix?
