Can I give my dog imodium??

I've given my Boxer Imodium and it has worked. Just a couple years ago i learned you can give a dog raw pumpkin and it will firm up the stool because of the high fiber and vitamin "A" in the pumpkin. Have given pumpkin to all my dogs whenever they get diarrhea and it always goes away within a day. Vitamin "A" helps build up the immune system as well. I feed them a heaping tablespoon of the "Libby's" raw pumpkin in the can used for pie filling whenever they get an episode and it always works.
